Getting Started Tutorials
Tutorial 1: Your First Trade
Step 1: Connect Your Wallet
- Open Torque (https://app.torque.fi)
- Click "Connect Wallet" button
- Select your wallet (MetaMask, Rainbow, etc.)
- Approve connection in your wallet
- Your wallet is now connected!
Step 2: Navigate to Trade
- Click "Trade" in the sidebar
- You'll see the trade interface
Step 3: Select Tokens
- Click "Select Token" for "You Pay"
- Choose a token (e.g., USDC)
- Enter amount (e.g., 100)
- Click "Select Token" for "You Receive"
- Choose destination token (e.g., ETH)
Step 4: Review & Trade
- Review the trade details (exchange rate, estimated output, gas fees, slippage)
- Click "Trade"
- Approve transaction in wallet (if first time)
- Confirm trade transaction
- Wait for confirmation
- Trade completed!
Congratulations! You've completed your first trade on Torque.
Tutorial 2: Your First Payment
Step 1: Navigate to Transfer
- Click "Transfer" in the sidebar
- Select "Send" tab
Step 2: Enter Recipient
- Enter recipient address or username (wallet address, @username, or select from contacts)
- Enter amount
- Select currency (e.g., USDC)
Step 3: Send Payment
- Review transfer details
- Click "Send"
- Confirm transaction in wallet
- Payment sent!
Tip: Save frequent recipients as contacts for faster payments.
Tutorial 3: Request a Payment
Step 1: Create Request
- Navigate to Transfer
- Select "Request" tab
- Enter amount & currency
- Click "Generate Link"
Step 2: Share Link
- Copy the generated link
- Share via email, messaging app, social media, or QR code
Step 3: Recipient Pays
- Recipient opens link
- Connects wallet
- Pays the request
- You receive payment!
Tip: Request links expire after 7 days by default.
Tutorial 4: Lend Assets
Step 1: Navigate to Lend
- Click "Lend" in the sidebar
- View available lending markets
Step 2: Select Asset
- Choose asset to lend (e.g., USDC)
- View current APY
- Enter amount to supply
Step 3: Supply Assets
- Click "Supply"
- Approve token spending (first time)
- Confirm supply transaction
- Assets supplied to Aave
Step 4: Monitor Position
- View your lending position
- Track earned interest
- Withdraw anytime
Tip: Higher APY assets may have higher risk. Always do your research.
Tutorial 5: Borrow Against Collateral
Step 1: Supply Collateral
- Navigate to Borrow
- Supply collateral asset (e.g., ETH)
- Confirm supply transaction
Step 2: Check Health Factor
- View your health factor
- Health factor should be > 1.5 for safety
- Lower health factor = higher liquidation risk
Step 3: Borrow Assets
- Select asset to borrow (e.g., USDC)
- Enter borrow amount
- Review LTV (Loan-to-Value) ratio
- Click "Borrow"
- Confirm transaction
Step 4: Monitor Position
- Track borrowed amount
- Monitor health factor
- Repay to reduce risk
Warning: Keep health factor above 1.5 to avoid liquidation.

Troubleshooting
Wallet Connection Issues
Problem: Wallet Won't Connect
Symptoms: Wallet modal doesn't open, connection fails, error message appears
Solutions:
- Refresh page (hard refresh: Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R)
- Check wallet extension is installed & enabled
- Try different wallet
- Use supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge)
- Check internet connection & disable VPN if active
Problem: Wrong Network Selected
Symptoms: Transactions fail, wrong chain displayed, tokens not showing
Solutions:
- Switch network in wallet extension
- Switch network in Torque using chain selector
- Add network manually if not in wallet
Transaction Issues
Problem: Transaction Fails
Solutions:
- Check gas settings (increase gas limit/price)
- Ensure sufficient balance (account for gas fees)
- Verify correct network
- Increase slippage tolerance for volatile tokens
Problem: Transaction Stuck
Solutions:
- Check network status on block explorer
- Cancel pending transaction & resubmit with higher gas
- Wait if network is congested

- Increase slippage tolerance in settings
- Reduce trade amount or split large trades

What is Torque?
Torque is a programmable financial operating system that provides a single, intelligent balance for managing crypto assets across multiple blockchains. It combines trading, payments, & credit into one interface.
Is Torque a wallet?
Yes, Torque is a blockchain wallet application similar to MetaMask, but with comprehensive DeFi functionality built-in.
Do I need to create an account?
No, Torque uses wallet-based authentication. Just connect your wallet to get started.
Is Torque free to use?
Yes, Torque is free to use. There are fees for same-chain trades (1%), cross-chain trades (bridge fees only), & network gas fees. No fees for transfers, lending, or borrowing (protocol fees apply).
Trade Questions
How do trades work?
Select tokens, enter amount, system finds best route, review details, confirm trade, tokens traded.
What is slippage?
Slippage is the difference between expected price & actual execution price. Higher slippage means larger price difference.
What fees do I pay?
Same-chain trades: 1% fee. Cross-chain trades: Bridge fees only. Gas fees: Network-specific gas fees.
Lending/Borrowing Questions
How does lending work?
Supply assets to Aave, earn interest (APY), withdraw anytime, interest accrues automatically.
What is health factor?
Health factor measures your borrowing position's safety. Health factor < 1.0 = liquidation risk. Keep health factor > 1.5 for safety.
Security Questions
Is Torque secure?
Yes, Torque uses industry-standard security practices: non-custodial (you control keys), smart contract audits, CEI pattern, reentrancy protection.
Where are my funds stored?
Your funds are stored on the blockchain in your wallet. Torque never holds your funds.
