Glossary

Wallet types, flows, gasless, assistant tools. Setup: Quickstart, Wallet & Chains.

EOA

Externally Owned Account. A wallet controlled by a private key (e.g. MetaMask, Rainbow). In Torque docs, “external wallet” or “Connect External Wallet” means an EOA. EOAs pay their own gas; Borrow is not available for EOAs.

Smart wallet

A contract-based account. In Torque, the smart wallet is the Torque Wallet you create via Continue with Email. It can use gasless flows & Borrow.

Torque Wallet

The smart account you get when you choose Continue with Email: email OTP → smart account. One address everywhere for that session; gasless where implemented; required for Borrow.

Continue with Email

The connection path that creates a Torque (smart) wallet: enter email, complete OTP, then a smart account is created. No external wallet needed.

Connect External Wallet

The connection path that connects an EOA via RainbowKit (MetaMask, Rainbow, etc.). You pay gas; Borrow is not available.

Gasless

Transactions where the user does not pay gas. Torque Wallet flows use Torque’s sponsorship policy so the user doesn’t pay for gas where implemented. EOA flows are not gasless.

One active wallet

At any time you have one active wallet: either a Torque Wallet (smart) or an external EOA. To switch, disconnect & connect the other type.

get_wallet_net_worth

The assistant tool that returns multi-chain portfolio data: totalValue & tokens (symbol, balance, value). Portfolio context can also come from single-chain data.
